Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, I Laloo, has declared December 24 and 25 as well as January 1 as dry days in the entire East Khasi Hills district on account of Christmas and New Year respectively. All Bonded warehouses/IMFL “OFF” and “ON” shops, home delivery licensees/canteens and outstills will remain closed on the aforementioned days, the DC said in an order.
Midnight swim
The 25th midnight swim will be held on December 31 at the Crinoline Swimming Pool to welcome the new year. Six tons of ice blocks will be put inside the pool for the event, which is being organised by the Forever Young.
