SHILLONG, Dec 26: As a goodwill gesture towards neighbouring Bangladesh, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya handed over a 15-year-old Bangladeshi boy, who had inadvertently crossed the international boundary in South Garo Hills and entered Indian territory, to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday.
Patrolling party of BSF’s Rongra outpost under 43rd Battalion of the force intercepted the boy while he was strolling near the international border.
When approached by the troops, the boy said that he was unaware of the alignment of international border and entered Indian territory unintentionally.
The minor was identified as Sahid.
The BGB was grateful to the BSF for their goodwill gesture.
