NONGPOH, Dec 29: The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Movement (HNYM), Ri-Bhoi, on Thursday gave a three-day deadline to Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) to obtain necessary documents from the village authority as well as the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) for implementing the gas pipeline project at Nongrim Nongladaw village under Raid Bhoilasa, Ri-Bhoi.
The deadline was issued following a surprise inspection conducted by the HNYM, led by its president Petrius Khymdeit, on Thursday at Nongrim Nongladaw village.
The village headman Karbius Lyngdoh was also present during the inspection.
Speaking to media persons, Khymdeit said that the HNYM had earlier received complaints from different quarters that the implementing agency of the pipeline project had failed to obtain a no-objection certificate from the village authority as well as labour licence for the labourers from the KHADC.
The HNYM president also informed that he had earlier met the IGGL project manager Kashi Bishwanath to seek availability of the documents.
However, with the manager failing to furnish the documents, the HNYM served a three-day deadline to the IGGL to obtain all the necessary documents before implementing the project.
Further, Khymdeit also informed that the company has obtained the NOC and labourer certificate from the Raid Iapngar instead of obtaining the same from Raid Bhoilasa where the project is being implemented.
