Guwahati, Jan 7: The Indian Railways has managed to bring back the smile on the face of a little boy by handing over his favourite toy that had been lost in the train while travelling from Secunderabad.
On getting information through Rail Madad, a Railway official recovered the toy from the train and handed it over at his home.
The 19-month-old child was travelling along with his parents by train No. 07030 Secunderabad – Agartala special and had lost his favourite toy while de-boarding at their destination in West Bengal. A co-passenger, Bhusin Patnaik, had been observing the child’s cordiality with the toy throughout their journey.
On 4th January, 2023, he informed through Rail Madad by dialing 139 that the little boy had forgotten his favourite toy truck in the train. The passenger also mentioned that it would be great if the railway arranged to return the toy to the family.
The Railway team, on getting information, acted swiftly and traced the location of the train and at the next coming station, i.e. New Jalpaiguri attended the informer and recovered the toy.
Locating the contact details of the family was a tough task as their ticket was purchased through the reservation counter in Secunderbad. After thorough search, the requisition slip filled for seeking reservation was identified and their contact details were retrieved.
Finally, the concerned parents were identified as Mr. Mohit Rzaa and Mrs. Nasreen Begum from Qazi Gaon village of Uttar Dinajpur District (West Bengal) which is about 20 Km from Aluabari railway station. The railway team went to their home and handed over the toy to the child.
The father of the child was overwhelmed and thanked the office of the Minister of Railways for their sweet gesture in bringing the smile back on the face of their child.
