SCL 3rd Div: Nongpdeng, Laitkor register wins

New Delhi, Jan 7: Nongpdeng thumped SMCA by 44 runs in the Shillong Cricket League 3rd division match at NEHU ground, here on Saturday. Batting first Nongpdeng scored 129/7 in 20 overs with Robertjune Nongsiey (33) top scoring, followed by by Teiborleng Dhar (28). For SMCA, Suraj Gupta (3/20) was the pick of the bowler, while Irfan Ali claimed 1/19. In response, SMCA were bowled out for scored 85 in 15.3 overs. David Das top scored with 19 while Roshon Roy made 16. Nongpdeng’s Banteilang Kharjana claimed 2/11 and Sanki Dhar finished with figures of 2/16. Nongsiey was awarded the Player of the Match for his innings of 33 and also claiming a wicket. In the second game, Laitkor beat Lawsohtun by 7 wickets. Batting first, Lawsohtun managed to post 112 in 20 overs, with Edmund Dhar (18) and Peter Lyngkhoi (14) being the top scorers. For Laitkor, Player of the Match, Osric Wanswett (3/23) and Andy K Kongor (2/15) were the pick of the bowlers. Laitkor chased down target in 16.1 overs while losing 3 wickets. Wanswett top scored with 52 runs in 41 balls while Ronny Khongsar scored 23 runs in 28 balls. For Lawsohtun, Synran Shabong (1/21) and Dhar (1/29) claimed a wicket each.
