PRAYAGRAJ, Jan 8: Former Governor of Meghalaya Kesari Nath Tripathi passed away in Prayagraj on Sunday morning. He was 88.
Born on November 10, 1934, in Allahabad, Tripathi served as the Governor of West Bengal from July 2014 to July 2019. Before that, he also held additional charges for short stints as the Governor of Bihar and Mizoram.
Tripathi had succeeded Krishan Kant Paul as the 14th Governor of Meghalaya. He held the post from January 6, 2015 to May 19, 2015.
He was also a member of the Uttar Pradesh legislative Assembly for six terms.
Tripathi also practiced as a senior advocate at the Allahabad High Court. (Agencies)
