SHILLONG, Jan 19: Five candidates are in the fray for the position of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem, the election to which will be held at the conference hall of the KHADC on Friday.
The Hima has remained without a full-fledged Syiem since 2016.
The five candidates, who have filed their nominations, are Ainam Manik Syiem, former Acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem, Samran Sing Syiem, Pynshailang Syiem, Banteilang Syiem and Mansan Manik Syiem.
According to the Council, a total number of 43 electorates including Myntris, Lyngdohs and Basans will be eligible to cast their votes on Friday.
