Guv invokes inspiration from Netaji on birth anniversary

SHILLONG, Jan 22: Meghalaya Governor BD Mishra, on Parakram Diwas, which is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose or Netaji, expressed hope that the occasion will inspire in people the spirit of nationalism and patriotism.
In his message, the Governor said that Netaji was a great freedom fighter whose role in India’s Independence has been unsurpassable. He was an illustrious military leader, superb combat Force organiser and a celebrated battle field motivator. Netaji was the founder of the Indian National Army and fought for the freedom of India against the British government during World War II.
He coined the most popular salutation ‘Jai Hind’.
“His charismatic personality and powerful oratory inspired millions of Indians to join the Indian freedom struggle. His legacies continue to inspire us, the Indians, to preserve Netaji’s legacies and our sovereignty and independence,” the Governor said while appealing to the people to imbibe his ‘Nation First’ spirit and move forward to contribute positively to the process of nation building on his birth anniversary.
