NONGSTOIN: The villagers from various areas of Langpih who had held an indefinite hunger strike last year would meet on Friday to discuss the failure of the Government to resolve the long pending inter-State boundary dispute.

The proposed meeting would be held at Langpih from 11 am onwards.

“We had called off our indefinite hunger strike with the hope that the Government would take steps to resolve the long pending boundary dispute,” Pynskhemlang Nongshlon, who had spearhead the hunger strike movement of the villagers said while speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

Nongshlong said that it has more than one year, the Government failed to take steps to solve the long pending issue.

“The villagers feel they have been cheated since the Government made a commitment to take proactive steps to resolve the boundary problem. But it seems the Government is not all serious to the commitment it had made to the villagers,” he said.

The young leader from Langpih said that they are likely to decide to go for another indefinite hunger strike in the proposed meeting.
