New Delhi: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has reached Delhi to attend a meeting on Saturday convened by Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi on the Food Security Bill. Congress general secretary in charge Meghalaya, Luizinho Faleiro, will also attend the meet.

Dr Sangma will also attend the annual meeting of the new North Eastern Council which will be held here on Tuesday. Newly-appointed Governor Dr KK Paul will also be attending the meeting, official sources informed.

The Congress, while projecting the Food Security Bill as a game changer, has called a meeting of its chief ministers and AICC general secretaries to discuss the issue.

The meeting called days after the government rushed through the ordinance is an indication that the party is keen to pull out all the stops in propagating the Food Security Bill that will provide right to cheap food grains for almost 82 crore people.
