SHILLONG, Feb 6: The NPP on Monday said MM Danggo’s decision to quit the party and join BJP does not really matter to the party but it surely reflects poorly on the leader and the lack of conviction in him.
“One candidate less out of 58 does not make a difference to us but I don’t know why he has taken that drastic steps,” NPP national spokesperson James PK Sangma said.
“His fickle mindedness shows his lack of conviction but it does not really affect our prospects in Khasi and Jaintia Hills,” James said.
He pointed out that that the NPP never considered the constituency to be in its kitty.
The former NPP leader filed his nomination for the Ranikor seat on Monday from the BJP.
