Restriction
In view of the ensuing Assembly elections, the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday directed the boulder-exporting trucks and dumpers plying through the district to Bangladesh to halt between 6 am to 8 pm on February 16, 17, 25 and 26.
Dry day
West Khasi Hills District Election Officer (DEO) Garod LSN Dykes has imposed dry days in the district with effect from 4 pm of February 25 to 4 pm of February 27, and from 7 pm of March 1 to 7 pm of March 2. The restriction has been clamped to ensure seamless conduct of free, fair and peaceful Assembly elections.
Quiz
Eight schools from Meghalaya have qualified the Preliminary Round of the Fit India Quiz, 2022, and have proceeded to the State Round. According to a statement, a total of 38 schools from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim and Meghalaya have qualified for the State Round. It may be mentioned that the Fit India Quiz 2022 is being organised by Fit India Mission at three levels — preliminary round, state round and national round.
