SCL Super Division: United Xl beat Sputnik Spartan

Shillong, Feb 17: United XI beat Sputnik Spartan by 34 runs in the Shillong Cricket League Super Division match in MCA Polo ground on Friday. Batting first, United scored 185/8 in 40 overs, with Babloo Passah (41 runs in 51 balls) and Rohit Thapa scored (37 runs in 44 balls top scoring for the team. Meghalaya left-arm spinner Arbin Singh (3/36) was the pick of the bowler for Sputnik Spartan while Gagan Deep ended with the match figures of 2/23. In reply, Sputnik Spartan were bowled out for 151 in 34.4 overs. Abhishek Gupta top scored with a run a ball 76 with Kush Agarwal being the team’s second best scorer with 23 runs in 36 balls. For United, Jason J Lamare demolished the Sputnik Spartan batting line-up and ended with figures of bowled 5/8, while Navin Kumar bagged 2/33. Lamare was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding effort with the ball.
