Shillong, March 3: The NPP-led by Conrad Sangma is now all set to form the next coalition government in Meghalaya with support from two MLAs from the BJP, two from the HSPDP and two Independent MLAs.

The NPP though has emerged as the largest party winning 26 assembly seats in Meghalaya out of the 59 constituencies where elections were held, it has failed to attain majority on its own in the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly. Hence it requires support from at least five MLAs from other political parties to form the government.

Now with support extended by the BJP, HSPDP and Independents, NPP now enjoys support of of 32 MLAs and that suffice for be able to form the government.

Conrad Sangma had already met the state Governor and staked claim to form the government.
