SHILLONG, March 7: The Chief Minister and his cabinet ministers have been sworn in, and the KSU is all set to pressurise the new MDA 2.0 government so as to ensure that all pending issues in the state including the implementation of ILP, language recognition, and interstate boundary row are resolved.
Stating that the union is expecting the MDA 2.0 to find a solution to the pending issues, KSU president Lambokstar Marngar said, “We have already apprised the government of the demand for the implementation of ILP, inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, streamlining and improving of the education sector, adopt a policy of transparency in recruitment to each and every department and to improve the health sector in the entire state.”
Marngar stressed on focus special focus to a policy to guide the youths.
“We will not keep quiet and will follow the issues. We will put forward new issues also for the betterment of the people,” he added.
Talking about the interstate boundary dispute resolution process, he said, “The government should listen, and respond to the views of the people from that area. They should hear their cries. We expect the government should be approachable and take the views and aspirations of the people of that particular area”.
