SHILLONG: Chief Advisor to the State Government, DD Lapang, on Wednesday said there is a great concern over influx in the State and nation but little do people become wary of the influx of bad books that can mar the destiny of younger generation.

Addressing the inaugural function of the exhibition-cum-sales counter of NCERT publications here in the city, the former Chief Minister called upon the students to prevent themselves from spending their time on bad books that can destroy their dreams.

The programme was organized by the North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

While stating that Shillong is a focus centre for education, Lapang asserted that NERIE is placed in a forum where it helps in moulding new generations to be better human beings.

Students and principals of various schools were present on the occasion.
