Microbiology conference held

 SHILLONG: A two day NEMICROCON 2013 of the North East Conference of Microbiologists on the theme Newer Challenges in Clinical Microbiology was held at NEIGRIHMS on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Sangma said that microbiology as a science has evolved a great deal over the centuries, from the days of its inception when it was restricted only to discovery of microorganism with the aid of microscope and identifying the causative role of microbes in disease.

The conference is being organized by the Department of Microbiology NEIGRIHMS and Meghalaya Chapter of IAMM.
