SHILLONG, March 24: A complaint has been lodged against Williamnagar MLA Marcuise Marak, accusing him and NPP of publishing misleading and objectionable advertisements, and misguiding the electorates.
One Tennydard M Marak, in his complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner of India, said that Marcuise had circulated a ‘Report Card 2018-22’ during the election campaign, which contained false claims and fabricated report of his so-called achievements in order to woo the voters of Williamnagar, and was successful in winning the seat later only to secure a cabinet berth in MDA 2.0.
According to the complainant, the report card was distributed by Marcuise himself in violation of the Model Code of Conduct, which was already in place then.
“It contains only the works done during the period 2018-2022 and the credit claimed by him whereas it is completely a fabricated and false report and mostly half completed works,” the complainant said.
