Shillong, March 26: Sputnik Spartan beat MLP by 69 runs in the Shillong Cricket League Super Division at the MCA Polo ground here on Sunday. Batting first Sputnik Spartan put up 149 all out in 35.5 overs with Kush top scored with 53 runs while Prashant Ojha made 38 runs. For MLP, Morningstar Khongwir claimed 3/11 while Sandeep Roy finished with figures of 2/40. In response, Sputnik Spartan skittled MLP for 80 in 18.5 overs on the back of Lakhan Singh Nahar’s brilliant 6/23. Nahar was ably supported by Arbin Singh (2/15). Deepak Thapa (30) and Prakash Uniyal (17) were the top performers for MLP with the bat. Nahar was adjudged the Player of the Match for his six-fer.
