TURA: The first day of the GSU sponsored dawn-to-dusk non-cooperation movement throughout Dadenggre region has on Tursday severely affected normal life and also halted the flow of traffic through national highway 51 which connects Tura with Paikan.

The 5 AM to 5 PM two-day protest closure called by GSU to demand the removal of Selsella BDO Dr D Roy and retaining of Dadenggre sub-divisional school education officer Mrs I G Momin impacted headquarters Dadenggre town, Tikrikilla, Chibinang, Phulbari, Dadenggre, Damal A’sim, Selsella and Jengjal through which national highway 51 passes through.

Student volunteers had put up posters at several places calling for peoples’ support and fresh posters were visible at Selsella which has become the centre of the ongoing tussle between the state government and the student body over the appointment of the controversial block development officer.
