Appeal
The Wildlife Division of West Jaintia Hills has asked people not to disturb the movement of vultures which have migrated to West Jaintia Hills as well as abstain from harming them. The appeal has been made in the wake of a flock of vultures migrating to the district, which the locals claim to be an annual phenomenon during this season of the year. According to the locals, the vultures were spotted near the Jowai-Dawki main road at Lad Demthring and will continue to remain in the area for three to four days this month. Meanwhile, the Wildlife Division of West Jaintia Hills has also deployed forest guards for the safeguard of the vultures.
