Shillong, April 11: Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singh Deo has claimed that he and his fellow ministers in the state are not permitted to speak about anything that is taking place, days after former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot started a hunger strike against his own government.

After being questioned if a political unrest similar to that in Rajasthan was also escalating in Chhattisgarh, Deo said “There hasn’t been anything to make me unhappy, but we aren’t allowed to talk about what goes on behind closed doors.”

“The “2.5-2.5 years CM” (2.5 years Baghel and 2.5 years Deo) formula is frequently brought up in the media. When it doesn’t, it hurts” stated Deo.

Nonetheless, he continued, “This is a party internal affair, and we follow whatever the top command decides.”

After the Congress took back control of Chhattisgarh in 2018 after a 15-year absence, Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singh Deo engaged in a power struggle over the position of chief minister.

It was also determined that Baghel would hold the position of chief minister for 2.5 years and Deo for the remaining 2.5 years.

On Sunday, Pilot said that the Ashok Gehlot-led administration had ignored allegations of corruption that had allegedly occurred in Rajasthan while the BJP was in power. He also declared his intention to fast for the entire day on April 11 to demand action.

In response to Sachin Pilot’s announcement of a day of fasting against his own government, TS Singh Deo stated that Pilot does not intend to overthrow the Ashok Gehlot administration but rather calls for an investigation into Vasundhara Raje, the previous chief minister of Rajasthan.
