BSF brightens lives of border residents

SHILLONG, April 11: Border-dwellers from villages of Baigunkona, Sibbari, Dumnikura and Namchapara along the Indo-Bangladesh border in South Garo Hills on Tuesday benefitted from the civic action programme of 181st Battalion BSF Meghalaya which aims to ensure the well-being of the border population.
During the programme, BSF distributed various needful items such as water purifiers, stationary items, dustbins, cycle, solar lights etc., among the children and needy villagers. The programme was attended by a large number of people from the local community who appreciated the BSF’s efforts.
Another similar programme was organised by 193rd Battalion BSF at the bordering village of Rajai in South West Khasi Hills. Various essential items were distributed among the villagers. The helping hand extended by BSF was hugely appreciated by local population
