Shillong, April 12: The first Vande Bharat Express for Rajasthan was flagged-off on Wednesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually. The Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment route will be used by the Vande Bharat Express train.

According to a statement, the train will arrive at its destination an hour earlier than the current fastest train travelling on that route.

The first run will be between Delhi Cantonment and Jaipur.

Normal services between Ajmer and Delhi Cantonment will begin on Thursday, including stops at Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurugram.

The journey by train from Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer will take 5 hours and 15 minutes.

According to the statement, the Shatabdi Express, the current quickest train on this route, travels the journey in 6 hours and 15 minutes.

The Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment Vande Bharat Express will be the first semi-high speed passenger train operating over land with high-rise overhead electric lines.

According to the statement, the train will enhance connectivity between the state’s top tourist attractions, including Pushkar and the Ajmer Dargah, and foster socioeconomic growth in the area.
