MoS reviews implementation of central schemes in WJH

JOWAI, April 16: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Saturday reviewed the implementation of the various centrally sponsored schemes by different line departments in West Jaintia Hills.
The MoS, who was accompanied by his Personal Secretary Kumar Ravikant Singh, held a meeting with the Commissioner and Secretary, Dr Joram Beda, Deputy Commissioner, BS Sohliya along with the Additional Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners.
After the review meeting, Chaudhary expressed his satisfaction with the overall progress and implementation of the schemes in the district.
The Union minister also visited an Anganwadi centre at Moopyllaitsyiar village, where he interacted with the District Programme Officer, Child Development Project Officer and the Anganwadi workers.
Chaudhary also visited the Krangsuri Falls along with his wife, Bhagya Shree Chaudhary. He received a traditional welcome and interacted with the representatives of Ladjaplem village and the tour operator of the site.
En route to the falls, he stopped at Demthring village for a moment to witness a flock of rare migratory Himalayan griffon vultures which are currently roosting in the area.
