SHILLONG, April 17: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday said that the second round of talks to resolve the interstate border dispute with Assam in the “remaining” six areas will begin next month.
He, however, did not mention the date on which the talks with the Assam government is likely to begin.
It may be recalled that the two state governments had signed the MoU for the first six disputed areas in March last year. However, the MoU has faced opposition from various quarters.
As far as the second round of talks are concerned, both the state governments have already reconstituted three regional committees each to do the preliminary work.
