CM is expected to convene MDA meeting soon on roster system: Hek

Shillong, April 18: Meghalaya Minister from BJP, Alexander Laloo Hek on Tuesday informed that Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma was expected to convene a meeting of the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) in the coming week to discuss the roster system and other issues.

Talking to a section of the reporters, Hek said that he had personally met the Chief Minister yesterday to discuss this matter.

The BJP said that he personally felt that the roster system should be implemented prospectively.

According to him, there is a need to discuss if there is a need to review the present state reservation policy.

He also informed that the party had already constituted a committee on this matter with former MLA, HM Shangpliang as the convener.

Hek informed that the other members of the committee include party MLA, Sanbor Shullai, state president, Ernest Mawrie, party spokesperson, M. Kharkrang, party legal advisers—Vivan G Kynta and SP Mahanta and the two party leaders of the party from Garo Hills– Edmund K Sangma and Ferlin CA Sangma.
