Shillong, April 19: The country’s first dual cylinder CNG vehicle, the Altroz iCNG, is now available for booking through Tata Motors. Deliveries of the Altroz iCNG will start in May 2023, and customers can reserve one for Rs 21,000. The four Altroz iCNG variants—XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+—will be offered.

Due to its twin-cylinder CNG technology, the Tata Altroz iCNG earned a “tremendous response” from buyers after its initial unveiling at the most recent Auto Expo in January 2023, according to Tata Motors. According to the manufacturer, the use of twin cylinders has enabled the car to provide consumers with a useful boot area, a feature that is not available in any contemporary CNG vehicles.

To ensure a big usable boot space, it will include Innovative Twin Cylinder Technology with a total water capacity of 60 litres (each cylinder has a 30 litre capacity).

The Altroz iCNG boasts additional safety measures like thermal incident prevention, a gas leak monitoring feature, and a micro switch to ensure the car is switched off at the time of refuelling. It also starts immediately in CNG mode.

With this launch, Tata Motors hopes to increase CNG vehicle acceptance in the nation on a par with petrol and diesel vehicle acceptance.
