Further dip in Coronavirus cases in India; 6660 infections reported

Shillong, April 25: Tuesday saw a further decrease in the number of daily Corona virus cases in India for the third day in a row despite 6,660 new cases of the virus being recorded during last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The weekly positivity rate was calculated to be 5.42%, while the daily positivity rate was 3.52%.

In the previous 24 hours, there were a total of 24 fatalities. Punjab had four fatalities, Delhi had three, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka all had two, while Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu all had one. Kerala accounted for nine fatalities.

A total of 5,31,369 people have so far died due to the pandemic and the case fatality rate is 1.18%. There are 63,380 cases that are open.

The percentage of Covid-19 instances that are currently active is 0.14%. There are 98.67% recoveries nationwide.

In India, 7,178 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on April 24 compared to 10,112 instances the day before.

The nation reported 12,193 new Covid-19 cases on April 22.
