SHILLONG, May 2: The first engagement between the Assam and Meghalaya governments in the second phase of border talks will be initiated this month, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Tuesday.
Sangma said that some discussions have taken place over the phone between him and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma and they are working on a date to hold the talks.
Sangma expressed hope that the date will be finalised soon for resolution of the dispute in the remaining six areas which include Khanduli-Psiar, Block-I and Block-II, Borduar, Langpih, Nongwah-Mawtamur and Desh Doomreah.
