SHILLONG: The Megha-laya Public Service Commission (MPSC) is bearing the brunt for the delay on the part of the Government to appoint a new chairman.
According to official sources, the MPSC is functioning without a chairman for the past two months after WB Suchiang retired as an acting chairman this June.
The Commission is unable to declare any result or hold any personal interview without the chairman, sources said on Thursday.
“At the moment, the commission is conducting only the written test. The personal interview and declaration of the result would take place only after the appointment of a new chairman,” official sources said.
It is to be mentioned that the Government has not appointed a full – fledged chairman of the commission after the retirement of former IAS officer Ashok Kumar Tigidi in December last year.
