Assault
On August 11 at around 3 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Rajesh Das (45 ), driver of a truck (AS-01K-4344) at Mawryngkneng (EKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and shifted to Civil Hospital , Shillong.
Theft
One Bidyat Rabha lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla police station that on the night of July 26, Md. Surjamal and his accomplices, felled and stole nine standing teak trees from Baghpara graveyard in West Garo Hills.
Molestation
lIn yet another case, a woman lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 11 at about 7:10 pm, one Army personnel, Shari R outraged her modesty at Police Bazar.
lSimilarly, another woman lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on July 17 and August 6, one Kloster Nonglang molested her in her residence at Nongrah and also threatened to rape her. In this connection, Police have arrested the accused.
