EJH boxing body aims to promote sport

 SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills District Boxing Association (EJHDBA) will participate in the upcoming Meghalaya State Boxing Championship (MSBC), which is scheduled to be held in the state shortly.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, EJHDBA president Damewanhi L Rymbai said that the trials for the under-14 and under-16 teams (boys and girls) will be held at Dkiah West on August 19.

“The Association has also reiterated its commitment to prepare the youth for the upcoming state boxing championship and promoting boxing in the district,” Rymbai said.

He added that the association has also decided to hold inter-school boxing tournaments and a district boxing championship in a bid to promote the sport.

Apart from the president, the other office bearers of the association included vice-president T Bhoh, general secretary Phillip J Bamon, joint general secretary MS Suja and treasurer JS Sutnga.
