Shillong, May 23: A delivery agent fell from the third floor of a building in Hyderabad following attack from a dog.

Since January of this year, there have been two such incidents reported in the city.

The incident took place in the Srinidhi Heights residences in Hyderabad’s Panchavati Colony. When the delivery person knocked to deliver a mattress, a pet Doberman attacked him.

Police said that when a 30-year-old deliveryman went to bring a mattress there, the dog began to bark at the partially open door of the customer. According to the police, Illyas went over the parapet wall to protect himself from the dog as the Doberman charged at him when the door was open.

Illyas stumbled and fell, the police claimed, but was saved by the client and other locals. The injured person was sent right away to a local hospital for treatment.

In accordance with Section 289 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Raidurgam police have opened an investigation.

In the meantime, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) demanded in a release that the dog owner pay for the delivery executive’s medical care.
