DSC passed candidates to intensify agitation

NONGSTOIN: The Association of West Khasi Hills DSC passed 2010, threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike after the Deputy Commissioner S Kharlyngdoh refused to revalidate the merit list of the DSC Examination 2010.

The AWKHDSC passed 2010 conducted a meeting on Fridayday in this regard and unanimously decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike from August 19 at the office of the Deputy Commissioner campus Nongstoin.

This decision was taken after the Association placed their demand before the Deputy Commissioner. The Association of DSC passed had earlier asked the DC to revalidate the merit list by August 14.

The Association also claimed that during their meeting with the DC on Friday at his office, the DC showed no signs of making the revalidation. General secretary of the Association, W Marwein said that they had already made several approaches to the DC and had urged him to consider their demand. “The DCs in other Districts have revalidated the merit list of the candidates. In this circumstance, we have no choice but to go on a hunger strike till the government pays attention, ” Marwein said.
