SHILLONG: The semifinal matches of the Rev Fr Joseph Arokiasamy Memorial Inter-College Football Tournament were held on Saturday at the Don Bosco Mini Stadium, Laitumkhrah.
In the first match, St Anthony’s College came out the clear winner, beating St Edmund’s College 3-0.
The scorers were Wansan Wahlang (43rd minute), Bisharlang Kharumnuid (60th) and Raymond Kharkongor (89th).
Later, Union Christian College defeated Sankerdev College in the second semi, winning 4-1.
Ngaminlien gave UCC the early lead with a goal in the fourth minute, followed by Khaiminlun (43rd) and Ngul (62nd).
Rudolf Shangpliang then reduced the margin in the 77th minute for Sankerdev, but Chiging added another for UCC in the 89th minute, confirming his team’s place in the final.
