SHILLONG, June 2: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) has issued a notice to the heads of all educational institutes asking them to remain vigilant against production of fake mark sheets and certificates during the ongoing admission process.
MBoSE Controller of Examinations, TR Laloo said, “It has come to the attention of the Board that some students are producing fake mark sheets and certificates of Class X examinations while seeking admissions in Class XI.”
Laloo advised the heads of various institutes to scrutinise the authenticity of the candidate’s documents before giving admissions to avoid any inconveniences later on.
When contacted, a senior official of the Education Department on Friday said the Board issued the notice as a precautionary measure. “So far, no case of fake mark sheets or certificates has been reported from any of the institutes,” the official said while adding that the central government has asked all states to come down heavily against the racket of fake certificates and mark sheets.
