JOWAI: The 3rd Cleaning drive-cum-awareness programme organized by the Bakur Social Welfare and Sport Club in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills, and the office of the SDO (Civil) Amlarem Sub Division was held at the Bakur Community Hall on Sunday.
The drive which involved the cleaning up of the entire Bakur area witnessed mass participation from its residents and school students.
Later an awareness programme on cleanliness and preservation of the environment was also held. West Jaintia Hills District DC, P.S Dkhar also inaugurated the garbage disposal vehicle at Bakur for systematic dumping of garbage.
