General meeting
The All Jaintia Mid-Day Meals Workers Union, East Jaintia Hills will hold a General Meeting in the Community Hall, West Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, at 10 am on Thursday. The agenda of the meeting is the welfare of the cook-cum-helper. The union, therefore, has urged each and every member of the union to attend the meeting.
Office-bearers
The formal introduction ceremony of the new office-bearers of the North Eastern Hills University Student’s Union (NEHUSU) for the year 2023-2024 was held at the convocation hall on Monday. Mawlai MLA Brighstarwell Marbaniang along with the acting Vice Chancellor Prof P Naik and University Registrar Prof AS Dixit were present on the occasion. The office-bearers are Ready First June Nongbsap (president), Easterson Sohtun (vice president), Banpynbiang Riang (general secretary), Wellbirthson Rani (assistant general secretary) and Mandor Diengdoh Swer (finance secretary). A cultural event was also held after the introduction ceremony.
The NEHUTA, a statutory body of teachers of NEHU, conducted the election of its new office-bearers. The newly elected body comprises Prof Lakhon Kma as president, Prof DV Kumar as vice president and Dr Marbhador M Khymdeit as general secretary, Dr Juwesh Binong as joint secretary and Dr Jacqueline J Thabah as treasurer, besides six executive members. Dr Dokatchi Ch Marak from Department of Garo was elected to represent teachers of Tura Campus.

Missing
One Nizara M Sangma (17) has been reportedly missing from her residence in Motinagar, Laitumkhrah, since May 15. According to a statement here, she is five-foot tall, is fair-complexioned, strong build, and shoulder length black hair. She was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, black pant and golden slippers.
