SHILLONG, June 10: Meghalaya police have recovered two Shillong-based underage girls, who had reportedly gone missing last month, from their relatives’ house at Tumpreng in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
According to police here, two separate complaints were lodged on May 26 that a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl had gone missing.
The police informed that following the receipt of the complaints, lookout notices were sent all over the country as it had appeared that the girls, who knew each other, may have gone missing together.
“However, the Missing Desk of EKH, led by Hav. Sanjit Pandey and IO of the case SI Topon Marak, left no stone unturned and through a lot of hard work found the girls today in Tumpreng, West Karbi Anglong, in one of their relatives’ house,” police said.
The police also informed that the matter will be investigated to ascertain the reasons for the two girls running away.
