Shillong, June 14: Remains of a Russian tourist who was tragically attacked and consumed by a shark near an Egyptian resort have been retrieved from inside the predator’s stomach.

Subsequently, the shark was captured by beachgoers and subjected to a brutal beating, resulting in its death on the shore. Local media reported that the Institute of Marine Sciences and the Red Sea Reserves will now showcase the shark in their museum.

In an effort to understand the causes behind the shark’s behavior and determine if it is connected to previous incidents, researchers have taken custody of the animal. Reports suggested that the shark is believed to be linked to a series of past accidents.

The terrifying encounter was captured on video as 23-year-old Vladimir Popov was pulled underwater by a tiger shark while he desperately called for help. The incident occurred in Hurghada along the Red Sea, where Popov was swimming at a resort beach.

Popov’s father, Yury, shared that he and his son had simply gone to the beach to relax when the unfortunate incident took place.
