lA TATA Sumo (ASOIBD-6099) heading towards Shillong from Guwahati hit the back portion of a parked gas tanker truck (AS25B – 1340) at Umsaw Nongkharai under Umsning Block, Ri-Bhoi District on August 23. The accident victims, Chukraliya (35/M) and Real Nongkhlaw (77/F) were shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
lA motorist sustained injuries when the motorbike was involved in a collision with a truck at Najeng Bazar under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills on August 22 at 6:48 P.M. The injured, Camilius K Sangma (22/M) was shifted to Tura Civil Hospital.
lA Mahindra Max ferrying passenger from Bhoirymbong to Shillong was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction after a turning on reaching Umeit under Umsning Block, Ri Bhoi District. The driver of the vehicle, Wastar (38/M) and a passenger Jereency Kshiar (18/F) were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. The incident happened on August 21 at 7:38 A.M.
In all the above cases, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at the respective locations helped in shifting the injured to various hospitals.
