WKH villagers recover body from check dam

NONGSTOIN, June 25: A body was recovered by locals of Urkali village, West Khasi Hills, from a check dam in Umkyllain.
They then apprised the village head and the Nongstoin Police, following which an inquest was conducted and the body was shifted to Nongstoin Civil Hospital for autopsy.
Sources from Nongstoin Police have informed that the deceased has been identified as Starsis Langrin (34) of Shallang Sohbar, West Khasi Hills, who had recently fled from Nongstoiñ Civil Hospital after he was admitted there by his family.
Meanwhile, the cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
