SHILLONG, June 28: In what may be termed an achievement, Shillong College has been accredited with A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The college pegged a CGPA of 3.33 points at A+ Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 24-06-2023, the NAAC Director wrote in an email to the principal of the college, Dr E Kharkongor, recently.
“The outcome of the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) exercise of the institution was processed and approved by the standing committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results,” the email read.
When contacted on Tuesday, the college principal expressed joy over the achievement.
She expressed gratitude to the teaching faculty, support staff, governing body, students, parents, alumni and all stakeholders, without whom, she said, this feat would not be possible.
Informing that this is the fourth cycle of accreditation, the Shillong College principal said that they had worked very hard in preparing the Self-Study Report (SSR), Data Validation and Verification (DDV) as well as meeting the requirements when NAAC visited the college.
Kharkongor also mentioned that funds received from the state government to improve the infrastructure also helped.
“We got a higher grade due to the infrastructure of the college,” she said.
