Solar Mission’s launch this month, says CM

SHILLONG, July 3: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday informed that the Chief Minister’s Solar Mission will be launched within July at an estimate of around Rs 100 crore.
Stating that the paperwork has been finalised, Conrad said that under the project, there will be a component of government subsidy, loan component as well as individual-benefit component. “We will try to maximize the subsidy,” he said
It may be mentioned that the Cabinet had recently approved the Chief Minister’s Solar Mission, which proposes to incorporate sustainable green energy in Meghalaya.
Under the Mission, the government will subsidise a certain percentage of the scheme to different house units in rural and urban areas, and institutional units.
