Shillong: The Army recruitment rally conducted during July this year at the Polo Grounds for the youth of Meghalaya has proven to be phenomenal in terms of the outcome. The rally was intended to cover all the districts of Meghalaya and 3 districts of Assam.

Out of a total of 14,300 applicants, 9219 ran the course, with a further 425 candidates announced to have been eligible for the written examination.

Results show a total of 107 candidates from Meghalaya, clearing all barriers and finally being called to join in service for the nation.

The number of selected candidates is nothing short of remarkable given the turnout and final selection on previous such occasion. This may prove symbiotically beneficial for both the aspiring youth and the Indian Army in the years to come.

The office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills was the nodal department to collaborate on behalf of the State Government with the Army Recruiting Office. Special coaching classes for two days were conducted for written examinations by the District Administration for all those candidates from Meghalaya who cleared the physical tests.

This helped the candidates a lot as it was observed in the past that many of the candidates could not clear the written examinations in-spite of being physically fit which is the primary requirement for such recruitment rallies.

Candidates have been advised to contact the Deputy Commissioner’s Office or the Army Recruiting Office for confirmation of results.
