Body found
A body of an unknown male, approximately 25-35 years old, was found behind the MTC building at Jail Road outside a shop called Star Aquarium along the road which leads towards Hotel Pegasus Crown junction, on June 24. Accordingly, all formalities including post-mortem examination were conducted and the cadaver was kept at the morgue room of Civil Hospital Shillong for identification and claim. The deceased is around 5.4 feet tall and swarthy complexioned.

Awareness prog
A mega camp-cum-awareness programme on NALSA schemes and government welfare schemes and Launching of Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS) will be held at St. Francis De Sales Secondary School, Somonpara, under Gambegre C&RD, from 10 am on Saturday. This was informed by the District Legal Services Authority, West Garo Hills. Different line departments will participate and highlight their schemes, while the Health department will conduct free check-ups at the event.

 

Training
A many as 64 youths (28 females and 36 male) on Tuesday completed their 45-day training conducted by the Tornado Security Agency at its training centre in Iooksi village, West Jaintia Hills. This is the 4th batch of the trainees led by P Muksor, commander and training in-charge of the agency’s sub centre at Umdeinlin Iooksi. The event was attended by former JHADC MDC, S Tang as the chief guest.

 

Dak Adalat
A circle-level ‘Dak Adalat’ will be held at the office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, from 11 am on July 18. The Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to postal services for its redressal. Written complaints can be sent through ordinary or speed post. The deadline for the complaints to reach its destination is July 16, a statement issued here informed.
