Govt warns of variation in water quality, quantity

SHILLONG, July 18: In view of the ongoing testing and commissioning of the newly laid gravity mainline of Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (Phase-III), the public have been warned of a variation in water quantity and quality such as temporary discoloration being supplied to Shillong and its adjoining areas.
“This temporary inconvenience is essential for the commissioning of Gravity Main of Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (Phase-III) and every attempt will be made to the extent possible to supply clean and reliable water to the public at the earliest,” Chief Engineer, PHE department, said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
