Rising arson cases

SHILLONG: Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) which is one of the NGOs demanding for the implementation of Inner Line permit (ILP) in the State has asserted that State Government has to take the responsibility of various arson cases that that has been reported in the city in last few days.

She also said that some opportunities would always take advantage of the situation and later blame NGOs for the incidents.

It may be mentioned that incidents of arson has been reported from different parts of city since Thursday after the meeting between the NGOs and Government fell flat.

She also said that CSWO is not against non tribals or foreigners but it wants its rights.

Meanwhile, phone numbers of the prominent leaders of the NGOs who have called for a bandh were also found to be switched off on Sunday evening.
