Actress Veena Malik says she had to let go of some of her favourite food items to cut down almost 9 kgs to fit into her role in the upcoming film “Supermodel”.
“I had to work hard to fit into the character. When my producer and director Navin Batra came to sign me, they said that ‘Veena-ji, you need to cut down your weight to 47 kgs’. I was 56 kgs at that time. So to be a supermodel, I had to let go of food,” Veena said here at the music launch of the film.
“Then of course, to get into the character’s emotional ups and downs while acting… that was there. I wanted to make it look very real on screen,” she added.”Supermodel” also stars Ashmit Patel and hits theatres Sep 27. (IANS)

Pop star Lady Gaga says her desire to be a singer has nothing to do with fame.
The 27-year-old ‘Applause’ singer, who had to undergo a hip surgery this year, feels the injury gave her time to introspect and realise that she is not in the showbiz for popularity, reported Contactmusic.
“I really enjoyed the downtime because it rejuvenated my creativity and I figured out a lot about myself after the last few years,” Gaga said. “I realised I am not in it for the fame. I don’t need to go out and be recognised to feel alive. I do miss being onstage and singing and dancing. I didn’t miss getting dressed up,” she added. (PTI)
Bieber lost gold chain in reported club attack
Justin Bieber reportedly lost his gold chain worth USD 40,000 during a recent brawl at a nightclub. The scuffle happened at Uniun Nightclub, a late-night establishment in downtown Toronto, around 3 in the morning.
Early reports suggested Bieber was attacked by a male party goer when he was leaving his VIP section to mingle with the regular crowd, reported Aceshowbiz.
According to reports, the man attempted to pull Bieber down by his shirt, but security was quick to intervene.
The unnamed male was caught on camera getting tackled to the ground by the popstar’s bodyguard. He was said being escorted out of the club later on.
However, Orin Bristol, operations manager at the nightspot, insisted it was not an attack and claimed the male just approached the singer for pictures. (PTI)
